Inky Fingers Launched

A huge thanks to everyone who came down to our opening night at Forest. We at Inky Fingers are delighted with how the event went down, and it seems that performers and audience members alike has a fantastic time. Forest was packed wall-to-wall with an appreciative audience, and we had a full programme of open mic readers of a really high standard, with everything from poems and stories to songs and comedy. As well as Laura Hainey and the Chemical Poets, we heard from:

Roddy Shippin (poetry)
Theresa Munoz (poetry)
Claire Askew (poetry)
Mark Macunyilla (Irish Gaelic verse)
Peter George Mackie (novel extract)
Abbie Archer (comedy)
Neil Hargreaves (short story)
Alice Tarbuck (poetry)

Charlotte Plews (story extract)
George Anderson (short story)
Katie Craig (poetry)
Jim Bryce (song)
Rose Fraser (poetry)
Rory Woodroffe (poetry)
Rosie Phoenix Walker (short story)
Jim Thompson (poetry)

We’ll be back on November 23rd with another Open Mic (details coming soon),  but before that we’ll be kicking off our Writers’ Group on November 9th, also at Forest. Publicity for that will be up in the next couple of days; be sure to email us in order to book a Writers’ Group slot soon, as space is limited and we’re expecting a high demand.

Thanks again to all who came out; we’re very happy, but we also know that these events will be getting better and better. We’re looking forward to building a real community of writers and performers, and hearing more from you soon.
