DEAD POETS SLAM
City Cafe, 19 Blair Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1QR
20th June, 8-11pm
Inky Fingers is delighted to present a chance to honour, commune with, and possibly posthumously horrify your favourite poets in our DEAD POETS SLAM. Come and see performance poets transformed into their heroes! Enjoy some classic poetry as you’ve never seen it before! You might even discover a new favourite. It promises to be diverse, entertaining, and probably quite weird.
The competition is open to everyone. Slammers will compete as their chosen dead poet in three rounds – four heats of four slammers with group winners and two best runners up competing in the semis. The two highest scorers then slug it out in the final. Judges will be marking on choice of poet and poem, audience reaction and performance, so props, costumes and theatrics are encouraged. There will be prizes. If you’d like to take part, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Get in there quickly to claim your slot. It’s first come, first served and we won’t be allowing any dead poet to make more than one appearance.
