Dead Poets: Epitaph Competition

As if we weren’t busy enough resurrecting some of the best loved poets who put pen to paper for our Dead Poets Slam, we’re giving one lucky winner the chance to win two free tickets to the Slam, as well as a mystery dead poets prize!  All you have to do is follow our Twitter account @InkyFingersEdin and tweet us the best epitaph for a poet you can think of, with the event hashtag #RIPoet.  And even for those who don’t win, you may find your epitaph performed on the night!

Your epitaph can be anything from the poignant …

Dorothy Parker, 1893 – 1967:
Might as well live.

… to the silly …

Arthur Rimbaud, 1854 – 1891:
sans common sense, said Paul Valéry
But still he was offed by holes in his knee

… to the appallingly irreverent:

Sylvia Plath, 1932 – 1963:
What a gas!

Sharpen your pencils and your wits, and give us your best.
