WORDLAB is Inky Fingers’ occasional series of professional workshops with visiting writers and performers. We try to bring you top quality sessions with excellent and experienced facilitators, and to keep prices low and participation high.
In February we’re bringing you “The Poetics of Identity” with Joel McKerrow. Poetry is about more than just words and reactions. It is the process of forming who we are. We write the stories as they write us. This workshop is for both the beginner and the experienced to come and engage with the poetic process and the performative process and how they shape us. Joel McKerrow is an international touring performance poet who founded the Centre for Poetics and Justice and was the third ever Australian to represent his nation at the Individual World Poetry Slam Championships. He has been running workshops around the intersection of identity, poetics, formation and justice all over the world. (www.joelmckerrow.com)
Please book a place in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The workshop is open to anyone of any level of experience, with places on a first-come-first-served basis.
