Open Mic 3 November with Graeme Hawley

Open Mic Graeme Hawley Nove 2015

Inky Fingers Open Mic

Tuesday 3rd November, 8pm
Forest Café, Lauriston Place

The Inky Fingers Open Mic is back once again! On the first Tuesday of the month between 8-11 pm, it’s free to come and free for anyone to perform, regardless of style, experience, or identity.

We want to hear from YOU. We want your poems, your rants, your ballads, your short stories, your diaries, your experimental texts, your heart, your mind, your body. We want the essay on your summer holidays you wrote when you were four, your adolescent haiku, and extracts from your eventually-to-be-completed epic fantasy quadrilogy. We want to hear your best new work as well. And we want people to care about the way words are performed.

We are very excited to announce that this month’s feature is Sumit Khanna.

Scottish Poetry Slam Championship in 2008, BBC Edinburgh Fringe Slam finalist in 2012, and Luminate Slam champion in 2013, Graeme actually prefers non-competitive gardening.  His first collection of poetry, Reclamation Marks, was published in 2004, with a second collection, Sleevenotes, released as an album under the artist name 56n.  He is currently working on a Sibelius-related collection.

Open Mic slots are five minutes long; e-mail to sign up and be sure of a slot. Get there for 7.30 and have a chat with the people at the café to find the Inky organisers. We’ll see you there!
