For a few years now someone I trusted to follow me on my poetry Instagram account has been consistently informing The Loud Poets of my private poems and short stories. There has been so much information given to them about me, my stanzas and my rhymes – all without my permission or knowledge. After a long time of trying to figure out who it could be, for various reasons, I had a suspicion.

JAY G YING is a poet, fiction writer, critic and translator based in Edinburgh. His writing has appeared in or is forthcoming from The White Review, The Poetry Review, 3:AM Magazine, Modern Poetry in Translation, Granta amongst others. He is a winner of a 2019 New Poets Prize judged by Mary Jean Chan. His debut pamphlet Wedding Beasts was published from Bitter Melon in 2019 and his second pamphlet Katabasis is forthcoming in 2020. He is a co-founder of the award-winning Scottish BAME Writers Network. He is also a contributing editor at The White Review.
