The Inky Fingers Open Mic is back once again!
For 2016 we’re going ON THE ROAD around venues in Edinburgh. Our first event, on Tuesday 1st March, is at BANSHEE LABYRINTH on Niddrie Street. It’s free to come and free for anyone to perform, regardless of style, experience, or identity. We will announce our feature soon but it’s a corker! You won’t want to miss it!
And we also want to hear from YOU. We want your poems, your rants, your ballads, your short stories, your diaries, your experimental texts, your heart, your mind, your body. We want the essay on your summer holidays you wrote when you were four, your adolescent haiku, and extracts from your eventually-to-be-completed epic fantasy quadrilogy. We want to hear your best new work as well. And we want people to care about the way words are performed.
Open Mic slots are five minutes; e-mail inkyfingersedinburgh@gmail.com to sign up and be sure of a slot. We will be taking names on the night too so get there for 7.30 and have a chat with the people at the bar to find the Inky organisers. We’ll see you there!
